How to use - FAQ

To get started download and unzip the package first.

You have 2 folders inside : Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5 / 3.0 with the according version of the module (and manual) in each of them.

Install the module via your joomla installer. Then modify the parameters in the Module manager and publish the module.

General settings

  • Load JQuery : This slideshow requires JQuery to work. But if you use already another extension with JQuery, you can disable the loading of this library.

Slideshow theme

  • Slideshow theme : I create the slide theme for the slide transition but you can use it with fade transition too. The orientation of the shadow depend of the option « transitions --> direction of slide transition »
If you want use the « Options of Custom theme », you must choose « Custom theme » of course.
  • Background color of the slideshow : You can display png transparent image with this module. If you make that, I recommend you to put 'transparent' as value of Background color.

Options of Custom theme

  • The shadow and border radius don't work in IE7 and IE8
  • If you choose the option « Shadow large (15 pixels) » , a margin of 10 pixels will be around the slideshow.

The option « easing » is a function to determine the velocity of the transition. I love the function « easeinQuart » for fade transition.
This is the draw of each of them :

  • Important : You must put all your images in the folder « images » of your website. (or a subfolder of « images ») with Joomla 2.5 /3.0. With Joomla 1.5, the folder is "images/stories"

All your images must have the same size.
  • You can display jpg, gif or png files.
  • Alt tag is empty by default. This text is essential for the validation of the code, search engine and the accessibility.

Image Directory

If you want a quick install, you can select directly the folder with all your images inside. This folder must be in the folder « images » of your Joomla website.

If you choose this option, you can't add Alt tag, caption text or link to your images. These options are only available if you select your images one by one (with the previous tab « images »).
